Hope and Transformation

Volunteering?…Letting go of old ideas, ways of life, and allowing god to guide my life changing me into the person he wants me to be for the good of myself and others?

Change is not easy. It can be difficult, scary, uncomfortable, and just plain different from how we are used to living our lives. However, ultimately change is inevitable. If we are aligning ourselves with god, and open to change, we discover a new beautiful world.

It has taken me many years to act on a calling I felt inside myself. To let go. To have faith, and hope that god is caring for me, guiding me along the best life trajectory. Hope, faith, trust, and acceptance have allowed me to become more ever present with god understanding that he has a plan for me, you, all of us.

Since I have started volunteering with Olancho Aid Foundation, shifts in my life have occurred. Times are not always easy, and the life I am living is much different from what I was doing back home. Waking up at 5:00 AM getting ready for school is one of those things. However, I have noticed a sense of peace cloak me, knowing that god is always there guiding, directing, and giving me everything I need to complete whatever lay ahead.

Working with kids has been such a great experience. Over the past weeks I have created a report with Kids at the children’s home allowing for warm welcomes. When arriving, kids run up happy shouting “hola Naton”, accompanied by a big hug.

What lies ahead? I do not know, nor do I have to have it figured out. God has a plan for all of us. In times of distress I like to pause for a moment, and reflect on hardships overcome. Practicing this helps me stay in line with gods greatness, and helps steadfast alignment with ‘Hope and Transformation’ occurring throughout my life.
