The Olancho Aid Institute

The Olancho Aid Institute provides an international experience designed to educate, stimulate and enable religious and lay leaders to credibly address complex issues such as climate change and immigration in their U.S. in their Catholic institutions.

Retreats and Seminars 2020

All programs are held in Juticalpa, Olancho, Honduras. Housing, security, transportation and access to religious activities are included.

Awakening Faith and Transforming the World:
Leadership Development for
Youth and College Ministry Teams to respond to Laudato Sí

This one-week seminar will provide individuals working in Catholic Universities and as local youth ministers an immersion experience in a community where climate instability is impacting the environment, the food supply, public health and threatening the social fabric of families and the community.  This seminar will utilize a “See, Reflect, Judge” model to inform action plans in their U.S. organizations.

These one-week sessions are designed to provide families, youth groups, and parish groups with an immersion in a community where the social fabric of the community and families is being threatened by climate instability, mosquito-borne diseases, lack of potable water, and educational challenges. Participating in the Work of International Catholic Non-Profits

These multi-week opportunities are designed for individuals seeking to experience international work through the provision of dedicated professional and vocational skills in the community of Juticalpa, Honduras.  These opportunities are designed for those who are committed to “Action” who are seeking to confirm or explore their own commitment to social justice in a community where the social fabric of the community and families is being threatened by climate instability, mosquito-borne diseases , lack of potable water, and educational challenges. Embracing the Role of a Missionary Church

This five-day seminar will draw leaders and experts together to identify new models for building “A Community of Missionary Disciples” in Catholic Organizations. It will be co-hosted by the Olancho Aid Foundation, The Diocese of Juticalpa and the Catholic University of Honduras.

Creating a Community of Missionary Disciples

This five-day retreat is designed to provide seminarians and lay ministry leaders and immersion experience in a community where climate instability is impacting the environment, the food supply, public health and threatening the social fabric of families and the community. This retreat will focus on scripture, pontifical encyclicals, and pastoral writings that can be used to shape social justice efforts in U.S. dioceses and parishes.
