A Day in the Life
Since being here in Honduras, I have adapted to the early to bed, early to rise mantra that seems prevalent in many parts of the world where the daylight hours dictate sleeping schedules. This definitely seems to be the case for most Hondurans. Every morning I wake up at 5:50am to get ready for school and we are out the door on our way to the bus stop by 6:15am. Second to None
I have never come across a more energetic groups of kids in my life. Every day that I greet my second graders in line at our morning meetings there is never a lack of liveliness as the students are preparing for their day. First Impressions
For my first night in a foreign country I slept pretty well. I was exhausted from my flight and traveling, but I thought I would be a lot more uncomfortable than I was. I woke up the next morning rested and ready to take on the new challenges that I knew would face me at my first day of work at Santa Clara Elementary School.
