Olancho Aid Foundation Names Lauren O’Neill New Executive Director
Olancho Aid Foundation is pleased to announce that Lauren O’Neill has been named Executive Director. Lauren was previously in the role of Director of Honduran Operations.
She has more than 10 years experience in grassroots leadership, strategic partnership management, and international development along with a strong background working with NGOs, like Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos and Pro Mujer, that serve the people of Central America and the Caribbean. She is co-founder of The Solidarity Project which supports the development of local leaders in Honduras through microgrants and mentorship.
Lauren succeeds Interim Executive Director, Jessica Santavy, who will continue working with OAF as Development Director. “I am beyond thrilled to work with a leader with Lauren’s skills and desire to elevate the voices of local leaders,” said Santavy. “She’s an effective and empathetic communicator and that translates across languages and cultures. There is no doubt she will advance the impact of Olancho Aid Foundation’s work.”
Lauren resides in Honduras and is passionate about the value of international service and is working to rebuild the post-pandemic volunteer program for individuals and groups. She will strengthen existing educational and sustainable community programs while working with local leaders and the OAF board of directors to promote new initiatives.
