Olancho Aid Foundation Names Lauren O’Neill New
Director of Honduran Operations (Directora de Desarrollo)
We welcome Lauren O’Neill to the Olancho Aid Foundation, Inc. team as Director of Honduran Operations. Lauren brings over 10 years experience in grassroots leadership, strategic partnership management, and international development along with a strong background working with NGOs that serve the people of Central America and the Caribbean. She completed a Masters in International Management and Policy from New York University’s Wagner School of Public Service.
Lauren resides in Honduras and will be developing and implementing strategy focused on recommendations stemming from the ongoing engagement between Olancho Aid and the Business on the Frontlines program of the University of Notre Dame. She is passionate about the value of international service and will work to rebuild the post-pandemic volunteer program for individuals and groups.
Lauren is co-founder of The Solidarity Project which supports the development of local leaders in Honduras through microgrants and mentorship. Previously, she served in a volunteer capacity both in Honduras and Jamaica before taking on roles overseeing expansion, managing community outreach, and coordinating volunteers with organizations such as Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos. Lauren also worked at Pro Mujer, Inc., a microfinance institution that supports underserved women entrepreneurs in Latin America to receive access to financing and education, serving in various roles supporting fundraising at the main headquarters in New York City, and then in operations, alliance development and expansion in Nicaragua, Guatemala, and Honduras.
