Help strengthen the future of inclusive education in Honduras through your professional expertise.
Olancho Aid is growing, and so is the leadership needed to sustain our mission for the years ahead.
As we enter the next chapter of our work in Olancho, Honduras, we are seeking two new volunteer Board Members who can bring professional expertise, strategic perspective, and a commitment to our mission.
We are currently recruiting for:
- Board Member – Finance & Accounting
- Board Member – Marketing & Communications
Olancho Aid is a faith-inspired educational nonprofit working to expand opportunity through inclusive education, strong partnerships, and meaningful connections between Honduras and communities around the world. Our Board plays an important role in helping ensure that this mission is supported by the leadership, systems, and long-term vision necessary to grow sustainably.
Board Member: Finance & Accounting
We are seeking a professional with experience in finance, accounting, or a related field who can help strengthen financial governance and support Olancho Aid’s long-term sustainability.
This Board Member will provide strategic oversight of areas including budgeting, financial reporting, audits, forecasting, internal controls, and financial planning. The role will also help leadership translate financial information into insights that support sound organizational decision-making.
Ideal candidates will bring a strong understanding of financial oversight and governance. Experience in nonprofit finance, accounting, auditing, CFO/controller roles, restricted funds, or the development of financial systems and reporting tools is especially valuable.

This Board Member will advise on brand development and positioning, communications strategy, messaging, storytelling, and the development of sustainable communications systems. The role will also support Olancho Aid as we prepare for an upcoming institutional rebrand and continue building greater consistency across our digital, print, and stakeholder communications.
Ideal candidates will be strategic thinkers who can help translate organizational vision into clear communications frameworks while supporting the systems needed for a growing organization.

What Board Service Looks Like
Both positions are volunteer, unpaid Board roles with a three-year term, eligible for renewal. Board Members serve as strategic advisors, participate in quarterly Board meetings and relevant committees, attend the annual in-person Board retreat (typically held in Honduras) and contribute to Olancho Aid’s long-term planning and growth.
Spanish proficiency and experience with nonprofit or mission-driven organizations are preferred, but are not required for both positions.
Bring Your Expertise to the Mission
Serving on Olancho Aid’s Board is an opportunity to contribute professional expertise to an organization preparing intentionally for its next stage of growth.
Our 2026–2030 Strategic Plan calls for stronger organizational systems, financial stewardship, institutional identity, strategic communications, and Board development, all in service of a larger goal: sustaining and strengthening educational opportunities for students in Olancho.
If your experience aligns with one of these roles, or if someone in your network comes to mind, we would be glad to hear from you.
