Olancho Aid Spotlight: Sarahi Breve

December 14, 2017 by Volunteer Coordinator

Olancho Aid Spotlight: Sarahi Breve

Age: 35

Hometown: Olancho

University: UNAH

When did you join Olancho Aid?

August 3rd, 2015

How did you first hear about Olancho Aid?

A co-worker told me about it.

What is your role at Olancho Aid?

I am the homeroom teacher for 3rd grade B.

What is your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part is when I know I´m changing my students days.

Do you have a favorite memory of your time at Olancho Aid?

Yes I do, it was in September 2017 during the annual Foundation-wide dinner, because I got the award of teacher of the year.

What is the funniest thing a student has ever said?

In a 4th grade social studies class, we were talking about Honduras’s exports and imports, so I taught them the word “apparel.” I asked who knew that word, and a boy raised his hand and came to the board, asked me for a marker, and drew a dog on top of another dog. It was funny because in Spanish, when animals mate, the word is “aparear.”

How will you describe your class?

I would describe my class as a special class, the kids are all so different from each other, but at the same time they are all charming.

What is a fun fact about yourself?

I can’t talk in front of people.
