In November, while Honduras battled devastating circumstances due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Hurricanes Eta and Iota brought damage in the form of flooding and mudslides across the country. Homes and businesses were washed away. Juticalpa, where Olancho Aid Foundation is based, avoided the worst of the destruction. However, the economic impact is widespread and troubling. Food and housing insecurity have been on the rise and the problems will continue to grow as the pandemic wears on.
Olancho Aid Foundation has been serving the Olancho community for over 25 years and will continue to support the vulnerable through these most desperate times. In 2021, the focus is to provide educational and relief services through Escuelita Nazareth, Instituto Oscar Cardenal Rodriguez and the clean water program.
