Olancho Aid invites individuals and groups to travel to Honduras and experience the impact of faith-inspired, inclusive education through the work of our schools. Our Global Exchange program offers customized experiences that align with your goals—whether it’s cultural immersion, service learning, or faith-based community engagement.
For over 30 years, we have hosted diverse groups in Honduras including universities, parishes, and nonprofit organizations, each gaining a deeper understanding of Honduras’ culture, educational system, and the importance of sustainable development.

Traveler FAQs
Travelers stay in a retreat-style setting. Modest bunk rooms sleep four to six people. Sheets, towels, and a pillow are provided. There is a community bathroom with toilets, sinks, and showers near each room. Some luxuries like hot water air conditioning are not available. Wifi will be available sporadically throughout the trip.
Travelers will have the opportunity to sample culinary specialties of Juticalpa. Meals may be enjoyed at the retreat center, as a picnic, in a restaurant, or even in the home of a community member. Vegetarian options can be offered if requested in advance. Those with food allergies should discuss restrictions with us before their trip to determine the type of accommodations that can be made.
Olancho Aid Foundation has been welcoming travelers to Juticalpa for over 20 years. When traveling abroad, an understanding of cultural norms and potential risks is critical. The team in Honduras including bilingual guides, drivers, and trip organizers are residents of Juticalpa who are skilled in assessing potential risks, making travel arrangements accordingly and selecting trusted local services to ensure a positive and safe experience.

Bilingual Guide – A local guide will be with the group from 8a-7p daily and available 24/7.
In-country transportation – Travelers will be met at Palmerola International Airport by their bilingual guide and driver. They’ll then drive 4.5 hours to Juticalpa. Transportation for all planned activities will be provided and the driver will return the group to the airport on the day of departure.
Cultural activities – Various opportunities will be planned for the group to experience the beauty of Olanchano culture and people.
Travel-medical insurance – Insurance covers expenses at local clinics and evacuation in case of emergency. It DOES NOT cover expenses related to travel delays due to COVID-19.
Donation to Olancho Aid Foundation – A portion of your payment is a tax-deductible contribution to help advance the impact of Olancho Aid Foundation in Honduras.
