Welcome, Summer Camp Volunteers!

Returning volunteers Dani, Caroline, and Stephanie
In addition to returning volunteers Dani, Caroline, and Stephanie, five more volunteers join us this month to run a two-week English day camp for Santa Clara students and other bilingual students in the area. Read on to learn more about them!
Lynn Cina
Hi, my name is Lynn Cina and I am very happy to have this opportunity to work at the Santa Clara summer camp. I have visited Honduras about eight times with a mission team from New Hampshire. I have two adult children, and I have come down to Juticalpa many times with my husband and daughter because I enjoy playing with the children I have met here.
Peter Cina
Hi, my name is Peter. I’ve come down to Juticalpa many times on mission trips with my wife and my daughter. We live in Massachusetts and I have been retired for three years now. I keep coming because I like the Honduran people and want them to know that they are important and not forgotten. At home I like playing cards and billiards, in addition to a number of other volunteer activities.
Cat Dennehy
Hello there! My name is Cat Dennehy and I am super excited to be joining the long term volunteers for the summer camp this year. I usually come down in February with Mary Roy’s mission team from New Hampshire and have been part of the team since 2011. During the summer camp I will be doing the STEM activities with the kids. For my day job I am a physical therapist at Northeast Rehabilitation Hospital where I specialize in traumatic brain injury and stroke rehab. In my spare time you can find me on stage singing and performing in a show. I also love anything outdoors from hiking to swimming and boating. I am excited to continue to give back to the people of Olancho and look forward to many more trips to Honduras in the future.
Hannah Fork
Hey y’all, my name is Hannah Fork from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University in May with a B.S. in Education, which certifies me to teach math and special education for grades 4-8; I will be teaching 5th grade math this year!
I am so excited to be back in Juticalpa! Honduras is my happy place and my place to reset each year! This will be my fifth trip here and second time volunteering for summer camp.
Maddy Walker
Hi there! My name is Maddy Walker, and I am from Nashville, Tennessee. I am currently a junior at the University of Tennessee majoring in Social Work with a Social Entrepreneurship minor. In the future, I hope to be able to travel and make connections with people from all over while hopefully having an impact. My favorite thing to do is explore while listening to music! I also enjoy soccer, reading, and drawing. I am excited to be apart of the community in Juticalpa for a short while through the Olancho Aid Foundation!
